You may also fly if you find cheaper flights as long as you are at Brussels main Airport by 10 am and take the direct train to Brussels Central where we will start the visit. For those who wish we can meet up someday in London for a drink or a meal and see if I can accommodate some requests. 😊

DAY ONE

We meet at St Pancras station 45 minutes before departure inside the terminal. It is an easy trip and Brussels is the last stop and only takes two hours.

Visit of Brussels, Belgian food tasting, the historic centre, Grand place and the Royal District.

After a 2 hours journey, you will be at Brussels midi station where we will drop our luggage at a left luggage and begin our exploration of a stunning city. We will walk every corner, from the European quarters to the Royal District where stunning churches, cathedrals, palaces and views of the city will delight us, all the way to the Grand Place, my favourite men-made place on this planet. We will stop for some treats from delicious chocolate and waffles to chips, Belgian stew or prawn croquettes. Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options too!

For those who want, we can visit some of Brussels most famous bars where a thousand of different beers are served. Those who do not drink are welcome to have free time. We will then take the train to Verviers my hometown after diner where we will stay for the following nights.

DAY 2

The High Fence is the most stunning wild place in the country, with its rich nature, wildlife is thriving, from Eagle owls, Tengmalm owls or black storks, shrikes, with deer, boars, wild cats and the wolves who have made a come back. This nature reserve have a lot to offer, ask the thousands of Dutch, Germans and French people who gather there every summer for a wild holiday. We will hike those wild plains and forests and will hopefully cross paths with some of those inhabitants, seeing the wolves will be unlikely but, who knows, let's hope for a bit of luck. Nevertheless, these highs plateaux will remind you of Scotland or Scandinavia.

We will catch the first bus to the Baraque Michel (20 minutes) and will hike the High Fence, Belgium and one of Europe's most important nature reserves. This little jewel have some dramatic landscapes that would normally belong to the North of Europe so take your camera and your hiking boots. The hike will be of an average difficulty, about 10 miles/15 km, there will be no major hills but these landscapes are stunning, please have your hiking boots as it can get muddy in some places. Also be aware that in major nature reserves some paths might be closed throughout the day if there is a risk of fire so get ready to change path, nevertheless, this is a massive reserve and every corner is a living painting. We will have a nice diner in an agreed restaurant in the centre or at an old pub near the reserve. They serve traditional Belgian food before we head back to our hotel. DAY 3: Visit of BRUGES

Belgium's favourite and most visited town. Bruges is called the Venice of the North due to the many canals that run through the city, a fairy tale place rich in history, once the second largest city in Europe and the most important Harbour in the world, its beauty will take your breath away. It is the best preserved place in the country, home to one of Michel-Angelo's master pieces, the only one to have left Italy while he was alive and to the Basilica of the Holy Blood, a jar that supposedly contains the blood of Jesus Christ. This place really is the jewel of the Flanders, the Dutch speaking part of Belgium.Tourists come and come again to walk the cobalt streets or take a boat ride on the canal so why not stay enjoy this beauty of a place. If you have seen the movie'In Bruges, with Colin Farel, you know what I am talking about!
