About the event

TRAVEL INCLUDED, transport to the Jurassic Coast are really expensive but I will get some discounts by booking in advance. Hurray! I also DO recommend cameras or a good mobile phone for some insta-pics.

I am SO Excited to be taking you guys on another beautiful trip with sensational views of the Jurassic Coast, away from the busy Durdle Door or Old Harry's rocks. As my Jonions old and knew know, Mama Jon(Me) has a lot of gorgeous places to take you to and this is one of my new favourites!

We will start our trip in Dorset's most stunning village; Corfe Castle. Corfe castle, as is a small village on a hill top and as its name correctly stands, it has a castle, well, the ruins of one. It stretches across the width of the Isle of Purbeck, with coasts facing both the English Channel and Poole Harbour. It, therefore, includes sections of both the low-lying sandy heathland that lies to the north of the castle and the rugged Jurassic Coast upland to the south.

The name "Corfe" is derived from the Saxon word, ceorfan, meaning to cut or carve, referring to the gap in the Purbeck hills where Corfe Castle is situated. It has been an early settlement where the local Saxon tribe was living peacefully with and traded with the Roman invaders.

After a few pics from the top of the hill, we will begin our hike through the moorlands and along the sea in Arnes RSPB, where, if we get lucky we might spot a few spoonbills, the resident osprey or many other species of deer. The views you will encounter will remind you of the glorious South of France or Southern Italy with pine forests and deep blue sea, a medieval village and some lovely beaches. We will not enter the castle but we will surely have a little stroll in the streets of this absolutely beautiful village. And finally, we will finish our wonderful day with the visit of Wareham and a pint or meal at a local restaurant, or you can just hop on the early train back to London if you wish.

For those who know me, if you have to do a new trip this summer, this is the one I recommend the most,
