About the event

Let me take you to a new picturesque hike with beauty all over the place, history at every corner and the sea for most of the trip on a less-known stretch of the famous Solent Way.

We will start our trip in the small village of Netley, right next to Southampton and will walk through the ruins of the famous abbey where you will be able to pose and take some absolutely stunning insta-worthy pictures. See the links for more information. Netley Abbey - Wikipedia We will then reach the nearby coast and start our walk along the Solent way where you will be able to see medieval castles, the Isle of Wight as well as some stunning bits of history you did not even know existed.

We will walk through the medieval village of Hamble-Le-Rice and its Marina and will take a short ferry ride across to cut down a few miles from the hike.

This hike is very varied, from ruins to castles, from meadows to woodland and parks, Salt marshes to marinas, sandy and pebble beaches, even cliffs and a couple of untouched villages. If you like to walk in varied landscapes, this is going to be a hike you will like. And of course, as for most of my hikes, we will take the time to have a swim if weather allows so take your swim suit and join me for a splash in the English Chanel or a rest on the beach where you will be able to have a peak at the nearby isle of Wight. We will end our trip with another historical treasure, the Titchfield Abbey where you will be able to get some more pictures before we head to the village to either catch our train, or get some tasty food or a drink.(or both) Titchfield Abbey - Wikipedia
