About the event
Ever wanted know, to really know the city you live in? Join me on this last minute trip to socialise with awesome people and visit Central London.I will show you what I know, the stories I have learned, love stories, ghost stories, hidden castles or ruins that you might have missed on your London strolls.I have spent 10 years of my life working in a West End theatre as a duty fire officer, for a little show called Les Miserables, meeting and working with celebs and friendly ghosts and trust me, I do know so many weird and fun stories of customers, actors or famous singers. I discovered places that I had never expected to find and forgotten buildings hidden at the corner of a street. I know places who are home to little and tawny owls or peregrine falcons. You might know all those places, a few of them or none, never mind, it is going to be a fun day out with a stroll in our beautiful capital. We will begin our trip at Waterloo Station and walk along the south bank all the way to the Tower of London, London Bridge and then all the way to Soho, St James, Green and Hyde Park and will stare at the wonders of old Londinium, an ancient Roman and settlement, that has been a capital then no more then capital again to become the wonderful international city that we know to these days.First Roman, ( even though the remains of Brytonic settlements were found in the area), Anglo Saxon, destroyed by the Vikings in the 6th century and a fire in the 7th, today's London has a lot of history and beauty to give to us, it is time to look to really look at our home.DETAILS:DISTANCE:About 11 milesDIFFICULTY:EasyCOST:£9 via PayPal for the guide's feeINCLUDED:Guided hikeA great time with lovely peopleNOT INCLUDED:Anything not mentioned aboveWHAT TO BRING:Comfortable shoes for the day, hiking shoes or good trainers;Weather appropriate clothes, including waterproofs if there is a chance of rain;Water bottle;Packed lunch and snacks or some money to buy something in a fast food or other.MEETING POINT:London Waterloo Station at 10 am,(Under the clock in the main hall)ATTENTION:Our trips will not be cancelled due to weather conditions so please ensure that you do wear and carry appropriate clothing. 😄POLICIES:1: This group is designed for the pleasure and enjoyment of all of us, we do not accept any derogatory comments or behaviours towards anyone.
