3 Days Camping and hiking in PEAK DISTRICT: Kinder Scout, Mam Tor, Bamford Edge

The Peak District is one of Britain's most visited and outstanding national park and the first ever with the status of national park in the UK! And how right were they to preserve such a stunning place.

We will walk through magical rock formations, woodlands, ridges, by lakes and reservoirs, stunning villages that haven't moved since your great great great great grand parents times and on the top of plateaus overlooking the whole of the Peaks with views that will forever be engraved in your memory and to add to this, the heather will be blooming and covering the hills, moorlands and mountains with the purple and pink shades of its flowers.

Hotels in the area are extremely pricy and I have decided to cut the price by half by staying in a camping/glamping site. Cutting the price from almost £500 to a little £200 with more fun and most importantly, closer to nature. There will be toilets and showers.

PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN TENT AND SLEEPING BAG. ( a tent can cost as little as £20 so can a sleeping bag and keep it for my later trip in the Yorkshire dales. :) )

DESCRIPTION:

DAY 1:

On Friday afternoon, finish work earlier and join us at Victoria Coach Station by 3pm where we will take a 4 hours coach journey and a 20 minutes train ride to our campsite. By 8pm, we will all be set up, we will decide on the group chat wether you would like a barbecue or a diner at a nearby pub before we go sleep and rest for our first day of hikes.

DAY 2:

Mam Tor and Kinder Scout.

Alright, this trip will be slightly demanding on the way in, easier on the way back. Don't worry, there will be no walls to climb but it will be slightly steep for a little while until we reach the first Peak Mam Tor (517m) and circle around to Kinder Scout(638m) for our second climb, the highest point in the Peaks. The hike is about 12 miles long/17km and should take around 5 hours. We will take our time, no rush, only a nice pleasant speed where we will take in those landscapes.

We will then go rest at the campsite and will get diner where ever you want to.

DAY 3:

The last day will be spent in my favourite place in the country, BAMFORD EDGE. A rock formation that will remind you of the Lion Rock in the Lion King movies from where you will stare at the views and wonder how could nature have sculpted such a perfection. The hike is average, there will be a short 10 minutes climb and will be mostly flat after it. My usual hike is about 9-10 miles but could be extended if you wish. After it we will get the train to Sheffield, grab a quick bite and hop on our coach back to London, our mind filled with all the beauties we have encountered.

MEETING POINT

Victoria Coach Station at 3pm ( in front of the main entrance)

There will be a small cafe where we can grab sandwiches and coffee for lunch time, we will eat either at the pub or have a bbq or picnic.

TRAVEL:

Via coach and 1 train( it takes around 4 hours)

ATTENTION:

Our trips will not be cancelled due to weather conditions so please ensure that you do wear and carry appropriate clothing. 😄

2: Our trips are only refundable up to 30 days before departure, if you wish to cancel after that, you will be offered a transfer to another trip for the same price or you may resell your slot to somebody else.
